From 0 to 100 within a very short time: New group-wide training series case study: vitero in use at Provinzial Versicherung AG and Provinzial Nord Brandkasse AG

The Provinzial insurance group is one of Germany‘s top 10 insurers and part of the Sparkassen Finance Group. Sales are handled by more than 1,300 Provinzial agencies and 120 savings banks. Provinzial‘s sales trainers, who focus on training the advisors of savings banks, were faced with a major new task in August 2022: conceptualizing and implementing the launch management of new products in the asset protection area. The new private liability insurance 2022 was ready for sale and by the time of the product launch on October 1st 2022, advisors from more than 100 savings banks had to be familiar with information on the new product.

New Challenge

The new project brought many new requirements with it. „In the first preliminary conversations with vitero, we noticed that there was someone on the other side who approached the project with real interest and high motivation and wanted to make it a success together. It quickly became clear to us that we could meet our requirements with vitero inspire and that vitero was the right partner for our defined goals.“

A reliable tool

Since the different institutions have different technical specifications, one fundamental requirement was: the technical solution must function and be accessible for all savings banks. Since Provinzial already uses vitero inspire for other training formats and some savings banks academies also work with vitero inspire, this requirement was quickly fulfilled. „One advantage of vitero inspire is the easy handling and the quickly comprehensible setup. This allowed all participants to quickly find their way around the room.“

In just a few weeks, an average of 100 advisors per date were trained on the new product: „Private Liability Insurance 2022“.

Every minute counts

„Educational time for advisors of savings banks is very valuable. The working days are precisely timed and there is not much time left between consultation appointments.“ The vitero event manager was used to jointly create a custom-fi t registration mask, which the consultants could use to quickly and easily register for a suitable appointment in their area – without having to create an account or register.

Time tracking for IDD

The Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) imposes an obligation for insurance advisors to participate in further training. A minimum number of training hours must be accumulated annually. The exact tracking of time for every training participant is therefore necessary. With the help of the module vitero monitoring+, the participation times were tracked in a personalised manner and the documented data was then used to create the certificates for the individual participants. vitero monitoring+ was developed from the requirements of the insurance industry in the context of IDD and also enables to determine the degree of interaction of the individual participants.

Smooth procedure

Another important requirement was a very accessible and reliable support. The vitero initial support ensured that all sessions ran smoothly and that individual participants received direct support in case of initial difficulties. The number of registrations surprised very positively, and it quickly came to the point that the offer had to be extended. „The planned 10 dates were quickly and flexibly expanded by the vitero support to a total of 17 dates – an average of 100-150 consultants attended each date.“

New training format

The first training series in September was so successful that in November another further training took place in the same format. The schedule for new training content is often not determined until shortly before the product launch. “We are very grateful for the opportunity we have gained by working with vitero inspire to easily and quickly organize and conduct new training series at short notice. This has significantly shortened the lead time for the implementation of region-wide trainings and we are able to act very flexibly and promptly.

Conclusion and outlook

„With the help of vitero, all the project goals set at the beginning were achieved. The new training option via vitero inspire was received very positively, both by the participants as well as from other departments in our company.“ Among many other training series, already planned for the coming months, there was another joint project. The result of the project is the automated certificate creation with the dispatch to the individual participants. This function is now available to all vitero customers. „This significantly simplifies the followup process, especially with regard to the topic of IDD, and eliminates a large amount of administrative work.“
